Fan Code of Conduct
Since 2016, we have prided ourselves on the wonderful community built around NORTH Wrestling NCL - a community that encourages inclusivity, a community that creates an atmosphere of togetherness, and a community that built a safe space for all wrestling fans in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. So, let us start by saying that all of the following was already in place at NORTH Wrestling shows. We are so lucky to have such a conscientious, engaged and educated following already. But, none of this was written down, none of this was formalised. Now, it is. We will continue to review ALL of our policies - the Fan Code of Conduct included.
We ran a poll on our Instagram stories, encouraging you all to give your suggestions as to what you, the NORTH Faithful, would want to see in a Fan Code of Conduct. We are committed to upholding this code and will continue to ask for amendments as and where appropriate.
So, with every ticket bought, we ask every fan to adhere to these simple rules and procedures.
As a Fan of NORTH Wrestling NCL, I commit to:
Not engaging in or tolerating any discriminative behaviour, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, bullying, online abuse, physical violence, racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia or ANY behaviour that puts any other fan, talent or staff at risk.
If I witness any of the above behaviour, I will find a member of staff from NORTH or the venue, and inform them immediately.
Creating a safe & enjoyable environment for ALL. I will enjoy myself, but not to the detriment of others. Examples of this, and not limited to are:
I will be mindful of space, and others personal space - especially when Covid-19 is still prevalent.
If I am blocking the view of someone smaller than me, I will be mindful of them.
I will make ALL fans feel welcome to a NORTH show - old or new.
Following all safety procedures, safeguarding protocols, and Covid-19 procedures.
Being vocal, rowdy and engaged with our show (if I am so inclined) - but without being discriminatory. Swear, shout and have fun - but not to the detriment of others. Or, be quiet and watch the show - enjoy NORTH however you feel happiest. Do not judge, do not criticise.
Treat wrestlers with respect, do not cross any personal boundaries, and respect their personal wishes - either at the merch table or before, during and after the show.
NORTH Wrestling NCL staff members will be visible by either their Yellow Polo Shirts or by a NORTH Staff lanyard. If you need any assistance, please approach one of our staff members who will assist you accordingly.
Anyone not following the above Fan Code of Conduct will be asked to leave, and we reserve the right to refuse entry at future NORTH Wrestling shows.
